Finland has announced its Candidacy for the Executive Board of UNESCO for the term 2017–2021. It’s candidacy is supported by all Nordic Countries: Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Finland’s objectives for its term in the executive Board of UNESCO will center to advance:

- Lifelong learning
- Gender equality
- Freedom of expression
- Tangible and intangible heritage
